Breakfast for Champions
It's been a long week. There's no better way to treat yourself than with a full breakfast. I have you covered with a few restaurants that will leave you feeling accomplished. Let's get into it!
Nothing beats a weekend recap like a hearty breakfast. While staying in Norwood, I searched for a breakfast spot and found In a Pickle Restuarant.
Quick tip: if the line and wait are long, there must be a good reason for it.
A fun and colorful spot, In A Pickle has something for everyone. We got the All-American french toast which was topped with fresh blueberries, strawberries, and sliced bananas. Melted cheddar cheese and salsa topped of the Mexican omelet pushing us right into an itis. A bonus was that our waitress was kind and engaging. That's the service that keeps you coming back to a spot besides the food.
Don't forget to order mimosas while you're there!

Every once in a while I get this craving for one of the best sweet and salty combos derived from the South: chicken and waffles!
My cousin, Jessica, called me up one day and was like "Na, you gotta try out this place Southern Kin in Somerville." Now, as soon as someone recommends me a spot, I'm on it! So I called up my girl Key, and we made our way over for Saturday brunch.
Walking in, the smell of the food was in the air. Buttermilk biscuits here, shrimp and grits there, mimosas. I practically skipped to the table and eagerly put my order in for chicken and waffles, potato wedges, and a side of biscuits. Golden brown biscuits came to our table with a sweet jam on the side; hot and fresh off the press! Fried chicken sitting over a chive-cheddar waffle: drizzle some of that Fresno pepper maple syrup and honey pepper sauce right over, and you've got grandma's southern cooking hitting your northern tastebuds!

If you're looking for a great spot in the Norwood area to have breakfast - Sunrise Breakfast in Norwood is your go-to. This cozy joint offers consistency which is why I come back every so often. The owner is a nice guy and is welcoming every time I've visited. The menu is packed with something for everybody and at a good price.

Living in the south shore, breakfast spots are abundant, but I'm such a picky eater that there are only a few that I would dine at again. I had been meaning to try Yaz's Table since it's opening in Abington for a while and what other better day than my grandmother's birthday. Yaz's is a cozy little spot with both indoor and patio seating giving you a taste of farm to table dining. I had the Breakfast Grand Bowl and added a butter-poached lobster. My grandmother ordered the Farm Fresh and loved the freshness of everything, and you know how hard it is to please Haitians. Check this spot out if you're in the area!
